[ Personality ] – Even though he’s only older by all of two minutes, Ven still has some of the traits of an older sibling. He’s a fiercely protective friend and brother, willing to do anything for the people he’s devoted to and isn’t afraid to let it show. Roxas is someone Ven is especially protective of, wanting him to be safe and happy, and to keep anyone that would hurt him away. Sometimes this can get out of hand, but as they’ve grown up he has gotten a bit better at moderating this.
He tends to be good at reading people out of what he views as necessity, perceptive where sometimes his twin overlooks things instead. Sometimes the level of thought he puts into things makes him seem overly serious or brooding in nature but there’s more to him than what strangers see.
When he’s comfortable with others, Ven doesn’t act as guarded and serious as he can sometimes appear, able to relax and smile. While he isn’t the most vocal boy he does say what he thinks, and isn’t shy to talk to his brothers or his best friend, Terra. Around the people he trust he brightens up and shows off a playful side others don’t often see.
Along with Ven’s protective nature comes a reckless side, barreling into danger a little too readily and not always thinking about the consequences or his own well-being. Like his twin he also has a temper, often set off when he’s either goaded enough or someone important to him is threatened or hurt. He’s competitive as well, striving to do his best in anything he does, in part because of a friendly rivalry with Terra.
Ven’s favorite things to snack on are mints and mint gum, meaning his breath’s almost always minty. Sometimes people only manage to tell the twins apart from that detail alone. He has a soft spot for cute things but won’t admit it.
[ History ] – Ven is one of three brothers born to his parents in Twilight Town, the other two being his elder brother Cloud and his younger twin Roxas. The three Strife siblings didn’t go through life wanting for food or shelter, but they were missing something that they never really got and that was the loving care of their parents.
Most of the time the brothers seldom saw their parents. Their father was lawyer constantly immersed in work while their mother took to spending time with other men while he was away. The three learned to take care of one another and became fairly self-sufficient early in life, able to do whatever housework was necessary and get along well.
As soon as he could, Ven got a job and worked at a local accessory shop part-time to help earn money. When Cloud went to Dusk Academy the twins were left at home alone and kept in close contact with their older brother, waiting for the following year when they would join him at the school. And now that year has come.
[ Pets ] – After arriving at Dusk Academy, Ven found that a moogle had stowed away in his duffel bag. It’s apparently young, smaller than most of the moogles from his hometown, and he hasn’t yet decided what to name it.
